Why incorporate heavy chains into your lifting? For dat ASS of course lol

Lifting chains works for bodybuilders for three reasons: 1) They help match the resistance curve of an exercise with the strength curve of a muscle; 2) they prolong the time under tension of an exercise; and 3) they increase the intensity of an exercise.
After I finish my traditional working sets with a heavier weight and am starting to quickly fatigue, I will reduce the weight and add the heavy chains. Here I have 30 pound chains on each side of 405 pounds on the bar. So rather than just squatting a standard 405 which would be too pedestrian, I can have a max weight of 465 with the chains full off the floor and approx 425 at the bottom with part of the chain resting on the floor. An extremely valuable tool in building muscle and strength
