Cuffed TDX Dumbbell Lateral

Pretty proud of this one. Many of you as I’ve seen in your comments don’t have the fancy dual cable machine you’ve seen in my videos where I lie flat and do lateral raises. You can take what is a very ineffective exercise for most and completely maximize it! The traditional dumbbell lateral raise is a very subpar medial delt exercise for nosy and here is why.
1) people use too much weight, rather than starting with the Dumbbells placed at their hips they generally start with the hands in front of them. Here the shoulders are relaxed and you generate momentum in the non contracted state by creating a lateral swing. Yeah that’s not what we want.
2) At the top of the rep you see people actually slightly dip their torso. Im watching a men’s figure guy do it right now. He’s using 40’s and should be using 20’s. To get the dumbbell to the height he wants he slightly drops his torso at the top of the rep so the hands end up higher than the shoulders. Then because the weight is too heavy the down force on the negative is too much for him to apply any resistance. IMO,wasted rep.
Ok so seated dumbbell lateral raise with a red TDX band attached to the wrist cuffs

Because I am seated the band only stretches and applies tension at the top 1/3 of the rep. This is the shortened and also the weakest state. Remember we want to first fatigue the muscle where it is “weakest” this is how you grow the “fastest”
Because I have the band attached I can actually pull with pretty good authority and the band as it applies tension exerts control over the to 1/2 of the ROM. You cant do that with just dmbls, you would end up swinging and losing tension.
I then drop the Dumbbells and with just the band continue to hammer the delt in its shortened (weakest) state until failure.
By simply standing up I now create tension through the bottom of the ROM which is the only place I have any strength left and hammer it until near failure. Your delts will be deep into the fire at this point. The hotter the fire, the harder the fucking steel! GET SOME 💪🏽
