Nutrition Tip

Be wary of the person or program who tells you to never eat something or always do this.

I find it hilarious when people say they do not eat processed foods yet they post pics of their supplements, oatmeal, brown rice, condiments, Greek yogurt etc. There is not one person reading this post who hasn’t consumed something processed in the last three days unless you are starving yourself. The only people not eating processed foods are the dead ones. Everything in moderation!!!

Excluding a certain food group:

I made this mistake early on, listening to broscience rather than doing my own research. Never eliminate an entire food group unless you have an allergy or intolerance to it. There is no such thing as a bad carbohydrate or a bad fat. Complex carbs are more optimal at certain points in the day and so are simple carbs (simple sugars)

People usually link a bad fat with a saturated fat. Guess what, you eliminate all saturated fats and you will be certain to face health issues. Saturated fats play key roles in testosterone productions. Saturated fat intake helps the body reduce levels of lipoprotein, a risk factor for heart disease. Saturated fat also helps raise HDL cholesterol and contributes to overall weight loss (which has been shown to reduce risk of heart disease).

Again everything in moderation!!!

Even moderate intake of alcohol has been shown to offer health benefits..

Be wary of the people that tell you always and never. Things are just more optimal than others. Would I ever eat tilapia? No, I prefer real fish. Would it kill me? Unlikely if consumed in moderation.
