5 Tips For Fighting Holiday Fat Gain

My 5 tips for for fighting fat gain and falling off the wagon while on vacation.

Next weekend is a major holiday weekend. Yeah my birthday, ok also 4th of July. Many people might be going away, at the beach on boats or in Vegas with me. Either way it’s important we enjoy our time with family and friends in moderation but without completely undoing all our hard work. Here are 5 suggestions to keep you on track.

1) Enjoy alcohol if you choose to but in moderation. Avoid sugary mixers as they are the kiss of death in gaining body fat. I set a rule for myself. No alcohol will be consumed on that day until I’ve put in my work in the gym. So if you are meeting your friends on the boat at 11am or at a day club, your ass needs to be putting in work hours before.

2) Choose HIIT lifting over cardio. For some reason everyone stumbles hungover to the gym and walks on the treadmill for an hour saying I’m going to sweat the booze out. Listen you aren’t sweating shit out. Your body has processed that alcohol hours before. Man the fuck up and get a high paced lift in. Don’t be soft and go right to the treadmill. Go hit the weights and stimulate that metabolic rate and hormone release. The dopamine rush will kick the hangover ASAP.

3) Pick your poison at dinner. If I am having a big steak dinner with some type of starchy carbs I’m skipping desert. If I consume any alcohol at dinner I’m skipping desert. Now there is nothing wrong with making your date order desert and having some of hers 😂😂

4) If you plan to drink you count it into your macros. So let’s say my daily caloric limit to maintain BODYWEIGHT is 5500 calories. Well I will prob consume 3000 calories via food and liquid nutrition and leave the remaining 2500 for alcohol knowing I won’t drink that much since I am a light weight and I’ll still finish the day well under.

5) Get your hungover ass up and eat. Even if it’s getting up and having a quest bar. Do not sleep half the day skipping meals then go party. Make an effort to stick to a normal schedule.

Enjoy yourself in moderation, do not be a degenerate
